Board game: pets are an unlocked system. The FAQ answers capture, quest and use questions, but a pet-card name list is not automatically a roster of capturable monsters.
Choosing and recording pets
Editorial choice: compare the pet's actual unlocked card with your party's resource needs and its downsides. A recovery effect may be useful to one character but harmful to another; agree as a party rather than assuming every player benefits.
The community index has twelve entries, including Heroics and Brummix; that does not prove twelve capturable monster types. Follow your unlocked capture instructions. Use monsters, personal quests and solo rules for related constraints.
Questions
What is the best Frosthaven pet?
There is no official ranking in the cited FAQ. An editorial recommendation depends on the unlocked effect, party composition and any damage or timing cost. This page does not claim comparative playtesting.
Which pets are capturable?
Use the unlocked capture instructions rather than a general pet-card index. One explicit FAQ example is the Giant Piranha Pig in scenario 83: it can be captured as an ordinary Piranha Pig and this can satisfy that scenario's kill requirement. A complete capture roster is still missing here.
How does Personal Quest 21 use Trainer's Net? (Spoilers)
The quest character needs Trainer's Net, item 247. If another character owns it, that character must sell it so the quest character can buy it. Capturing an already captured monster can count for quest progress, but does not create duplicate copies of one pet.
Do captured pets survive a failed scenario? (Building 88 spoilers)
Yes. FAQ 4.1 says pets captured through building 88 are kept even when the scenario is lost.
Must everyone use the Lightning Eel effect? (Spoilers)
No. With unanimous party consent, an individual player may opt out of the damage and therefore not recover a card. The pet remains limited to one use per scenario.
Can a pet accompany a class solo scenario?
No. FAQ 7.2 excludes pets from class solo scenarios.
